Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!

Finn World Book Day 2013

March 2nd found many Elementary Schools celebrating the birthday of the beloved Dr. Seuss. It seems amazing to me that someone's books can still teach children a love of reading whilst giving their parents so much nostalgia for their own childhood. At least that's what it does for me. I have a terrible memory, but I can distinctly picture reading Dr. Seuss with all it's wacky characters and fabulous colors. I have always claimed that One Fish Two Fish was the first book I ever read, I could be making that up but it just stands out so vividly.

In honour of Dr Suess's birthday, we have picked our top five favourite quotes:

1) “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.” —Happy Birthday to You

2) “From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere.” —One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

3) “If you never did you should. These things are fun, and fun is good.” —One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

4) “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” —The Lorax

5) "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose." —Oh The Places You'll Go!

Tell us what you think of Dr Suess. We'd love you to share some of your photos, memories, or your favorite quotes that are too good to miss off this list!
